Spanish courses for teachers

Enjoy face to face courses in Spain in small groups focusing on your Spanish level and teaching skills.

You will be full-board accommodated in a family environment in your tutor’s home. You will share our family lifestyle but you will have your own privacy in your bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

We understand the new specifications for languages in the UK. Therefore, we’re offering quality brush-up Spanish courses for Teachers, who will gain enough confidence for teaching Spanish at their schools.

Stay at a lovely Spanish cottage (casona montañesa) in the mountains.

You will be accommodated in one of our five very large rooms with en-suite bathroom.

Enjoy a relaxed familiy atmosphere in our living room. Apart from Spanish TV, we have British freeview satellite TV as well as films in English and Spanish. You can also relax in our Library.

As part of your holiday, you can also learn a bit about the Spanish culture by sharing our lifestyle and enjoying Spanish food like  tapas, jamón serrano, chorizo, tortilla, paella, etc.

A Day in Our Life

All rooms are spacious and have comfy mattresses and an en-suite bathroom. The house is a converted old traditional house dated from the 1780s and there are different common areas including a library, a living room and a patio and a garden.

We’ll provide you with shower towels but you will need to bring your own beach towel as you won’t be allowed to take ours out. We also provide you with sheets and normal shampoo and gel.

Voltage in Spain is 220 AC, 50 Hz. We use standard two pin plugs. Therefore you should bring a euro travel adaptor.

Yes, you can bring a partner, children or your whole family with you at an extra cost if there is availability. Please, ask us about it.

We will provide you with the WIFI password once you are here. It’s a very fast broadband.

You are more than welcome to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee at any time

We don’t have any problem in preparing special meals, although we will charge an extra when it implies an extra cost or extra work. For example if you are completely vegan or you don’t eat neither eggs or milk it will mean that we have to buy special products and prepare completely different meals from the rest. You must understand that this is not a restaurant but a family home.

Weather & cloths

We have mild winters and warm summers. Good months to travel here are from June to November, being the hottest July and August. As we’re located in Green Spain where it rains frequently, please, bring an umbrella or raincoat as well as some warm clothes.

Apart from a raincoat or umbrella, for walking on local paths around our home, we recommend you to bring mountain boots or your most comfortable shoes. And don’t forget your swimming costume in case you go to the swimming-pool, the spa or the beach. You will also need something warm and some T-shirts because the weather in Cantabria is unpredictable.

Travel advice

Travel insurance is recommended, as is personal liability insurance for any claims that may arise. Please make sure that you have personal liability insurance.

European Community nationals are insured through the state insurance fund against accident and illness. Ask for the E111 form. British people are covered by the Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC).

Non-European Community nationals should have an international health insurance policy that is valid for Spain.

Our time is Central European Time. One hour ahead of British time.

We can pick you at Santander airport or Santander and Torrelavega coach and train stations.

You can walk easily to Puente Viesgo for visiting local bars and restaurants as well as local activities and supermarkets. But if you need a ride and you haven’t brought a car there is a taxi number we can provide you with.

Additionally, there are daily buses to Santander at different times.

We have a few bikes that we can lend you. If you are interested once here you can ask if they are available. During the summer period there could be more guests than available bikes.
