Spanish history course

Our Spanish History Course gives an introduction to the dramatic and fascinating history of Spain, specially focusing on the relation with England at sea. The course involves daily visits related to the different periods of Spanish history like a medieval tower or a museum about Armada cannons or a 16th century town, etc.

We will travel in time from prehistoric caves to Roman ruins; Medieval times when Castille’s vessels joined the 100 Years war, and its armies fought against the islamic invasion; through the Spanish ships bringing the first globalization and establishing new trade routes from Europe to America and Asia; up to the coming of democracy.

We’ll provide you with shower towels but you will need to bring your own beach towel as you won’t be allowed to take ours out. We also provide you with sheets and normal shampoo and gel.

Voltage in Spain is 220 AC, 50 Hz. We use standard two pin plugs. Therefore you should bring a euro travel adaptor.

Yes, you can bring a partner, children or your whole family with you at an extra cost if there is availability. Please, ask us about it.

We will provide you with the WIFI password once you are here. It’s a very fast broadband.

You are more than welcome to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee at any time

We don’t have any problem in preparing special meals, although we will charge an extra when it implies an extra cost or extra work. For example if you are completely vegan or you don’t eat neither eggs or milk it will mean that we have to buy special products and prepare completely different meals from the rest. You must understand that this is not a restaurant but a family home.

Weather & cloths

We have mild winters and warm summers. Good months to travel here are from June to November, being the hottest July and August. As we’re located in Green Spain where it rains frequently, please, bring an umbrella or raincoat as well as some warm clothes.

Apart from a raincoat or umbrella, for walking on local paths around our home, we recommend you to bring mountain boots or your most comfortable shoes. And don’t forget your swimming costume in case you go to the swimming-pool, the spa or the beach. You will also need something warm and some T-shirts because the weather in Cantabria is unpredictable.
