What does it mean to say you are someone’s "cuernita?" (speaker was Mexican)

I was with my husband and my Mexican friend, as members of an otherwise all Mexican group. One of the other people in the group asked if my friend was "our tour guide or employee." She responded that she was our "cuernita." and all the questions stopped dead. What did this mean?

Edit: This was clearly used as slang, and I can not find any non-standard dictionary definition. She clearly did not mean "croissant," or "little horn."
