What’s an appropriately modest, self-deprecating or funny response when a native speaker compliments my Spanish?

This is not a humble brag, I am very aware of my actual level and I know when I receive compliments they are just being kind.

Sometimes I’ve been saying “Es una mentira!” followed by a laugh. But I imagine maybe that could be taken the wrong way.

Other than just saying “Gracias” is there any other response I can give to let them know I appreciate the compliment while also making them aware I know that my Spanish is crap 😂
